Welcome to my personal site! I am a professor of international business and strategy at Northeastern University, and co-editor of Global Strategy Journal. I am a global strategy scholar interested in understanding how context affects value creation, especially in emerging markets. I have two research lines. My main research interest is global strategic management, in which I explain how institutions affect firms’ capability upgrading and internationalization and, subsequently, value creation. In my secondary line on global sustainable governance, I explain how norms drive owners’ influence and sustainability strategies to create societal value. I was elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business and received an honorary doctorate from Copenhagen Business School.
